A spectacular cool, bright morning made today’s match even more enjoyable than usual for our group. We did have to contend with a few gusts of wind but overall conditions were perfect.

I shared my rifle with our new shooter Mike and a veteran Richard Harris who blew a seal (his gun, not him personally) just before we started. My RAW HM1000 fired 108 shots between the three of us and had nearly 150 BAR left when we were done.  Amazing! Not so amazing was that those guys were hot on my tail with my own rifle the whole match.

I need to make mention of a couple notable absences. His excellency, Dr. Benny Lopoo is on the mend from an auto accident and was not able to join us. His needling, confidence shattering observations were sorely missed by all. Get well, Benny! Also, our celebrity shooter, Paul Plauche had his yard pass temporarily revoked after traveling to Lithuania and the Nats in North Carolina. We expect them both back and in fine form next month.
