Field target match report for Saturday 2-6-2016

The day started out with the temps in the high 30’s. By the time we left the range, it warmed up to about 59 degrees. The wind did not let up. With the wind blowing, the wind chill made it feel even colder then it actually was. At times the wind would be on the light side. Then at times it would blow the pellet away from the kill zone, just when you though you had a center hit on the paddle. There is a bright side. It was a beautiful day filled with plenty of sunshine and no rain. There were 6 shooters showed up to brave the elements.
We had a new face for the match. It was Rick McAllister. He just moved to the Gonzales area and this was his first match in a very long time. I want to welcome back, the old tooth puller himself, Dr. Benny Lopoo. Benny is still on the injured recovering list and has not shot in several months. He is still mending. It will just take him some time to get back.  Don Andries is having a bad case of the springer blues and it is not his screws this time. The action in his new Air Arms TX200 from Pyramid Air (just out of warranty) locked up on him while he was warming up. Hopefully he will get it straighten out in time for the Cajun match next month in March. With Don not shooting, that left 5 of us to shoot it out. I want to think everyone that helped with the set up and the take down of the targets.  Ken Green
